Getting rid of the non essentials is one of the most challenging parts of building your effortless wardrobe but its crucial. Its also more than just cleaning out the clutter, its also a mental exercise because it can be very overwhelming. Luckily I have a few tips that can was the strain.
Plan Plan Plan
Like any major project planing is the key to making it run smoothly. I read the life changing magic of tidying and it encourages you to do it all in one day. This was cool but, stressful so here is somethings that i would have organized better.
-Set A time: Pick a block of time that will allow you the freedom to declutter uninterrupted and finish it all in one sitting.
-Get organized : Get your materials ahead of time like heavy duty trash bags and decide how you want to dispose of all your items. Separate by Keep, Sell, Toss and allow for time to do all these in the same day.
-Create a Map for all your items: Ploy out space for all the items you wan to keep. Where will they be most functional and assessable to you.

Use this as a road map on what to keep that contributes to your style evolution.
– Separate memories and attachments from practicality:
We all have pieces that we hold on to because they have sentimental value, we wear them all the time, or we never worn them at all. Some items have to go in spite if this
Create A Home for everything
When you finish sorting, put it all in its pre planned home. Do it immediately! This way you start where you want to finish and know where to return it to even if you wear it that day. Everything that has no home, take them out of the house and off to where you pre assigned them to keep you from backtracking and trying to keep them.
If you do this right, it can be done in a few hours but depending on how well you prepare, it can take longer.
